After leaving the port of Lošinj for a long voyage, each ship would first make a stop in Čikat at Annunziata. At the chapel there, the crew and their families would pray the rosary before they bid their farewells, boarded the ship and disappeared in the distance.
Salute to the captain - re-enactment of the sailors' farewell will be held as a part of the LOSINAVA festival!
This Festival is dedicated to the rich maritime and shipbuilding tradition of the island of Lošinj.
