Ilovik

As you descend the steep road towards the Mrtvaška pier in the southernmost part of the island of Lošinj, you will be met with an amazing view of a picturesque labyrinth of islets, of which Ilovik is the largest and the only one inhabited (109 inhabitants).

In the 2.5 km long and wind-protected channel between Ilovik and the islet of Sveti Petar, ships have always found a safe anchorage.

Pirates would also often come here, which led to the construction of Fortica fortress on Sveti Petar.

The village of Ilovik itself is of a scattered type, with spacious and beautifully landscaped gardens full of flowers, citrus fruits and olive trees.
