From 7 to 10 May 2020 numerous competitors from all over the world will descend on 1.8 km long trails and vistas of the island of vitality, competing in the world's extreme downhill bike race the Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup Lošinj 2020.
The cycling weekends, breathtaking trails of the island of vitality with unique views, interesting forest roadblocks and a professional organization of mountain bike races will attract many contestants as well as viewers from all over the world. Both organizers and participants are eagerly awaiting this adrenaline race.
The extreme cycling competition or the 'Downhill' race emerged from the spring training of Slovenian cyclists. The event will be organized by the Lošinj Athletic Club and the Trbovlje Mountain Bike Club, with the full support of the Town of Mali Lošinj, Lošinj Hotels & Villas and the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board. The 2018 Mercedes-Benz UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup Lošinj was considered a unique race as competitors raced through the urban area and the finish line was on the shore, which was the first such case in the world cup.
or the ‘Downhill’ race emerged from the spring training of Slovenian cyclists. The first MTB downhill race was held in Lošinj in May 2013 in the organization of MTB Trbovlje, and then the Athletic Club Lošinj joined the organizing team. After years of summer holidays on the island of Lošinj and numerous rides on Lošinj trails, the idea came naturally. The rest is history, as they say.
