On Thursday, October 10, at the Museum of Apoxyomenos, classical music lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy a solo concert by Dane Franolić on marimba and snare drum.
The musician will perform pieces by composers from various periods and parts of the world, such as J. S. Bach, Pius Cheung, and Askell Masson. This is the first concert of its kind organized by the Lošinj Museum.
Dane Franolić is a percussion student at the Zagreb Academy of Music. He has participated in classical music competitions across Europe, winning six awards – first and fourth place in Valencia (Spain), first prize in Belgrade, second prize in Hallein, Salzburg (Austria), and two first prizes in Tropea (Italy), where he also gave his first solo performance outside of Croatia. He is a recipient of the University of Zagreb scholarship as well as a Yamaha scholarship. In addition to solo performances, he has played with numerous ensembles, orchestras, and musicians of various styles, including cellist Stjepan Hauser, the Italian group Il Volo at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, and the Youth Orchestra in Berlin.
This will be the musician's first performance on our island.
