Dolphin Day has been held in Veli Lošinj since 1993 and has been organized by Blue World since 1999 as the highlight of its educational activities. The event is dedicated to the Adriatic Dolphin Project, a long-term study of bottlenose dolphins in the Lošinj and Vis waters. Each year it attracts an increasing number of visitors, many of whom come to the island specifically because of Dolphin Day. The event enjoys strong media coverage at both local and national levels.
