Camp Čikat is thus became the 13th Croatian campsite to be considered as one of the most prestigious and best European campsites that hold the title Superplatz (134 campsites in Europe). ADAC is a German and European automobile club with over 18 million members that pays special attention to camping. The popularity and the credibility of its camping guide are evident from the fact that it’s frequently called a “camping bible”.
To receive the award, ADAC inspectors’ strict criteria must be met and the best grades in five evaluated categories received: the campsite’s general setting, swimming options, leisure activities, the presence and quality of shops and restaurants (culinary offer), sanitary facilities – the inspectors’ average grade must be 5 out of 5.
ADAC Superplatz award serves as recognition of the years of investments of Jadranka turizam d.o.o. (until recently Jadranka kampovi d.o.o.) into the 4 campsites in its portfolio: Camp Slatina, Camp Bijar, Camp Baldarin and Camp Čikat. Camp Čikat has during the past few years significantly raised the quality of camping on the islands Cres and Lošinj as well as all the Croatian islands in general. Besides receiving this year’s Superplatz ADAC award, it was in 2019 declared one of the Leading Campings of Europe (association of 38 best campsites in Europe), and won several awards at the 13th Congress of Croatian Camping.
The official award ceremony was held at the already traditional ADAC Gala Dinner at the Stuttgart fair in January 2019. Jadranka turizam d.o.o. will also present its campsites during the entire duration of the fair, from 11 November until 20 November 2020
