Festival LOSINAVA - Sailing the world for centuries is dedicated to the rich maritime and shipbuilding tradition of the island of Lošinj.
From September 5 to 19, 2026, Lošinj will revive the spirit of the golden age of seafaring! The LOSINAVA Festival combines sport, culture, music, and education, turning the island into a stage dedicated to the sea and those who live by it. It celebrates Lošinj’s centuries-old maritime and shipbuilding traditions while giving all generations the chance to creatively and enjoyably discover the stories, skills, and customs shaping the island’s identity. Over two weeks, visitors can enjoy regattas, sports competitions, concerts, lectures, and interactive workshops.
LOSINAVA POINT (8/9, 11/9, 15/9, 16/9, 17/9, 18/9)
During the festival, various daily workshops and lectures on maritime topics for children and adults will be organised on the main square of Mali Lošinj. Local artisans will be offering their products, and you will have the chance to learn maritime and fishing skills, as well as take photos and take home the most beautiful memories from the maritime history of the island of vitality.
“RIDE AROUND THE BAY” (9 a.m. – 12 p.m. & 6 – 9 p.m.)
Enjoy a free sailing tour around the Mali Lošinj bay with the local boatman Steno Vidulić. (Tours take place: 7 – 11/9 in the morning and afternoon, 12/9 in the morning, and 14 – 18/9 in the morning and afternoon)
“PRIMORKA” – AN OLYMPIC STORY FROM MALI LOŠINJ
More than seven decades after its Olympic appearance, the restored sailing boat PRIMORKA brings a chapter of Lošinj’s maritime and sporting history back to life, recalling a time when a boat from the island sailed all the way to the Olympic stage. The vessel and accompanying exhibition can be viewed at Hotel Bellevue. Once the former Maritime School building in Mali Lošinj has been renovated, PRIMORKA will “sail into its new home port” – a maritime collection dedicated to preserving and showcasing the island’s rich seafaring and sailing heritage.
