WILD BOAR RAGÙ BY Chef Sasso

Wild Boar Ragù, a unique product of the islands of Cres and Lošinj, holds a special place in the culinary scene. The idea was born in Bora Bar, where guests have the delightful opportunity to savour it. Ragù is served with homemade pasta and grated sheep's milk cheese. The wild boar used is sourced locally, contributing in a small way to the reduction and management of the wild boar population on the island. The product is devoid of preservatives and is crafted in a natural manner, making it an ideal choice for a quick, healthy, and delicious meal. Ragù is also an intriguing local product that, in a way, bridges the culinary heritage of Cres and Lošinj.
It is a ready-to-eat island delicacy featuring minced meat from the Cres wild boar in a tomato-based sauce infused with spices. It's recommended to warm and serve over cooked pasta; perfect for 2 servings. The shelf life is 10 months, but once opened, it should be consumed within 2 days.

Chef Sasso, the mastermind behind the beloved Limuncello and Kremocello liqueurs, draws inspiration from his grandmother's cherished Tuscan recipe.                                                                                            For over 17 years, he has been delighting guests at his Bora Bar tavern with these exquisite liqueurs. Additionally, Chef Sasso proudly presents his creation, the Wild boar ragù, a highlight featured on the menu of Bora Bar, the renowned eatery in Veli Lošinj.
