Taste the Mediterranean was launched in 2014, when UNESCO inscribed the Croatian Mediterranean diet on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. For 13 years, it has attracted professionals and tourists alike, having previously taken place in Šibenik, Rovinj, the island of Hvar, and Split. Under the motto – good food, good wine, good fun – it has become an unmissable gourmet event in the Croatian part of the Mediterranean.
Representatives from 20 countries have participated: 158 domestic and international chefs awarded with Michelin stars, Gault&Millau toques, and recognitions from 50 Best Restaurants and JRE. Together, they prepared Mediterranean culinary delicacies and held cooking workshops for professionals, as well as for pupils and students – the future generation of young chefs.
The most relevant international festival of Mediterranean food, wine, and lifestyle is being held for the first time in Kvarner – the European Region of Gastronomy 2026 – in Mali Lošinj, the Island of Vitality, and in the top restaurants of Lošinj Hotels & Villas.
