“Gremo na ulignje!” (Let’s go squid fishing!) – As part of the celebration of Mali Lošinj Town Day and the Feast of St. Martin, SRD “Udica” Mali Lošinj and the “Gušt” Association, with the support of the Town of Mali Lošinj and the Mali Lošinj Tourist Board, are organizing the traditional 6th Lošinj Squid Fishing Cup – St. Martin’s Cup!
Team Registration & Verification:
• Registration: open until November 13, 2026 via e-mail at srd.udica.ml@gmail.com
• Team Verification: Friday, November 13, 2026 at 5:00 PM at “Hirš” in Sv. Martin
Competition Rules & Schedule (Saturday, November 14, 2026):
• 10:00 AM – Start of the competition from Mali Lošinj Bay (breakwater)
• Fishing Zone: Gruica – Srakane
• 5:00 PM – End of fishing and handover of the catch at the Adria Oil fuel station
• 6:30 PM – Official weigh-in of the catch in Sv. Martin Bay (half of each team’s catch is returned to the team after the weigh-in)
Prizes:
Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams, the oldest and youngest competitors, for the largest squid caught, as well as a challenge trophy for the overall winners! Following the weigh-in, the St. Martin’s Day celebration continues in Sv. Martin Bay with food and drinks by the Gušt Association, a live concert by Lucky Band, and a raffle.
