Location: Mali Lošinj, Museum of Apoxyomenos
Time: 6.6.2026, at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 7 p.m., the Apoxyomenos Museum in Mali Lošinj will host a concert by Hungarian-Spanish pianist Istvan I. Szekely, as part of the first season of the KAŠMAN chamber concert series in Mali Lošinj.
The audience can expect an evening dedicated to the highlights of romantic piano literature. The program opens with Chopin's Scherzo No. 2 in B minor, Op. 31, one of the composer's most performed works that combines virtuosity and poetic expressiveness. This is followed by Brahms' Three Intermezzos, Op. 117, intimate and contemplative miniatures that are among the most beautiful pages of Brahms's late oeuvre. The second part of the concert will feature Liszt's monumental Sonata in B minor, S.178, one of the most significant works of 19th-century piano literature.
Istvan I. Szekely is a prominent pianist with an international career who works between Hungary and Spain. His performances are recognized for their technical mastery, deep understanding of the stylistic features of the repertoire, and strong artistic communication with the audience. A guest appearance in Mali Lošinj will provide an opportunity to meet an interpreter who has successfully established himself on the European music scene.
The concert will be held in the unique setting of the Apoxyomenos Museum, a space that has increasingly confirmed its role as the cultural center of the island in recent years, connecting heritage, contemporary art, and music.
Admission to the concert is free.
