Exactly 150 years ago, history was made on the island of Lošinj – the members of what is today known as the Josip Kašman Wind Orchestra gathered for the first time to ceremoniously welcome Emperor Franz Joseph to the island. It was the first public performance by the people of Lošinj in honor of the Emperor, and at the same time, the beginning of a centuries-long musical tradition that continues to this day.
To mark this anniversary, a theatrical reenactment of Emperor Franz Joseph’s arrival will be held on May 2, 2025, in Mali Lošinj, followed by the official promotion of the monograph "150 Years of the Josip Kašman Wind Orchestra" on May 13, 2025, at the V. Nazor Cinema in Mali Lošinj.
