*Amore Siciliano* is a mini-opera based on the popular Calabrian melody *Canzone di Cecilia*. Madrigals and cantatas by great composers (such as Sigismondo d’India, Alessandro Scarlatti, and Cataldo Amodei) intertwine with folk music—handed down through oral tradition over centuries—as well as numerous works by anonymous Sicilian composers. Thanks to the rediscovery of these previously unperformed works, Cappella Mediterranea has become a sought-after ensemble on the international music scene. Their performance in Osor—marking their debut in Croatia—is one of the highlights of this year's festival.
