Project KeyQ+: Culture and tourism as keys for quality cross border development of Italy and Croatia

1° CALL FOR STANDARD + PROJECTS, INTERREG ITALY-CROATIA Programme – PRIORITY AXIS 3: Environment and cultural heritage - Specific Objective 3.1: Make natural and cultural heritage a leverage for sustainable and more balanced territorial development - Investment Priority 6c: conserving, protecting, promoting and developing natural and cultural heritage. Actions aimed at promoting economic development through sustainable tourism or other activities based on the protection and promotion of natural and cultural heritage.

KeyQ+ capitalizes the experience of the former Key Q project, funded within the IPA Adriatic Cross-border cooperation 2007-2013 (1° call for standard projects) acknowledged with a European Projects Award IPA in 2013 in Bruxelles.

                                                               Objectives
o Promotion of different tourism sites from major attractions and valorization of less-known cultural assets
o Reinforcement of tourism in low season periods
o Promotion of local products and recipes identity-making of the territory through the pairing of food&wine events and cultural events
o Training of tourism actors (waiters and cooks) about local products and traditional recipes as well as regarding the capacity to create an integrated tourism offer between culture and food&wine.
expected results
o Analysis of typical products of the Adriatic coast of Italy and Croatia
o Selection of historical recipes identity making of the Adriatic coast of Italy and Croatia
o Definition of training modules KEY Q+ for professional and professionals to be (cooks and waiters)
o Strengthening of human resources for the development and employment in the tourism sector through brief modular courses for professional and future professionals in the tourism and restaurant sector
o Exchange of experience for tourism workers and stakeholders from Italy and Croatia
o Organization of KeyQ+ Festivals during low season periods
o IDEATION and PILOTING OF NEW TOURISM ITINERARIES / PACKAGES around cultural attractions that we’d like to promote:
o the NATIONAL WINE EXHIBITION in PRAMAGGIORE (VE) - Italy
o the MEDIOEVAL HOUSE in CIVIDALE DEL FRIULI (UD) - Italy
o the AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN MARKET in PULA - Croatia,
o the building “THE SHIP OF FREEDOM THAT TURNED EAST” by the architect Marcello D’Olivo in OPICINA (TS) - Italy
o the MUSEUM OF APOXYOMENOS in MALI LOSINJ - Croatia
o CASA ARTUSI in Forlimpopoli (FC) - Italy
o The ISTRIAN EDUCATIONAL GASTRONOMY CENTER KEYQ in Pazin - Croatia
