Location: Nerezine, Church of St. Mary Magdalene
Dates: 27 July – 19 September 2026
The exhibition is dedicated to one of the most fleeting, yet at the same time most poetic motifs in nature – clouds. Each photograph captures a moment that has already disappeared, but thanks to the eye of the camera, it has been preserved for lasting contemplation. Honestly, it would never have occurred to me to put together an exhibition, but thanks to the persistence of my friends, who have always encouraged me, I decided to share some of my cherished memories.
I call them memories because every photograph inspires my thoughts to wander through the past. Every click captures a moment of magical beauty. The island means many things – beauty, peace, solitude, wilderness, being in nature and being one with it. Becoming part of its flora and fauna. Even your way of thinking begins to change: I’ll do it tomorrow. Perhaps things used to be a little different, but today people come and go, while you remain here, living in harmony with nature.
I watch the clouds as they tell their stories. Clouds are a symbol of change, freedom and imagination; in them, each of us can discover our own story, shape or feeling. Nature gives you a strength that no one can charge you for or take away from you. It is fascinating to outsmart the ants, talk to the birds, play with the cat, plant a tree and watch it grow over the years. To give life back to nature.
"Nature brings us together as one, and in such a simple way, we become better people." — Mirjana Sokolić
